Before the snow fell our drive near the Canadian border gave us glimpses of lingering autumn color. The tamarack needles turn golden, most fall on the ground and some remain on the trees.
On a day trip this fall we enjoyed the beautiful trees of Stevens County. Close to the Canadian border we found groves of white birch trees and shedding tamarack. So lovely to see!
The fields are ready for harvest. Today was hot and perfect timing for cutting hay. This was in Stevens County, northwest of Spokane.
