Remembering a historical building

P2062327.JPGThere is much controversy over the historical Jensen-Byrd building. It is close to the Riverpoint campus and the discussion is whether student housing is best accomplished in a renovated historical building, or a completely new structure. My memories of the Jensen Byrd (Wholesale Hardware) building are that my Dad made frequent buying trips for hardware merchandise and occasionally as a young child I would go with him. Every time I drive by this charming old structure, I remember Dad. Maybe those memories are what causes folks to fight destroying buildings that really aren’t worthy of being renovated!
